How Denmark buys defence drones

We hold 26 contracts, tenders and notices with Denmark as the buyer. For the armed forces, drones are bought by the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO, in Danish FMI), which also buys for the police together with the Danish National Police.

If you want to sell drones to the Danish Armed Forces, start with the dynamic purchasing system for unmanned aerial systems that DALO runs with the Danish National Police. Suppliers can apply to join it while it runs, and each order is competed among the suppliers inside it. DALO has used it for training drones, small FPV drones among them.

For small military drones of NATO Class I, DALO has used a framework agreement that also covers sustainment, support and training.

Counter-drone buying has started, from drone Remote ID sensors to anti-drone shotguns bought for an urgent need. Denmark's Skyranger order and its Army air defence integration are covered in Europe's drone wall: from signed orders to delivery, and the wider picture in counter-UAS procurement.

At sea and on the ground, DALO has bought underwater vehicles, both autonomous and remotely operated, held a market dialogue on maritime unmanned systems, and bought unmanned ground vehicles for trials.
