Underwater drones (AUV system) for DALO

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (hereinafter "DALO") intends to enter into a contract with Kongsberg Discovery AS (hereinafter "Kongsberg") for the procurement of underwater drones (collectively an AUV system) and associated integration services. The contract also gives DALO the option of continuously purchasing maintenance services and spare parts for up to 10 years (corresponding to the AUV system's expected lifespan) after the signing of the contract. The procurement is urgent and is part of the Danish rearmament as a result of the current security policy situation, as the AUV system is to be integrated on the Danish Armed Forces' new ship (Norwind Helm), which will constitute a new, dedicated capacity for monitoring underwater infrastructure in and around Danish waters. DALO thus has an operationally compelling and urgent need to enter into the contract. The contract is awarded directly without tender to Kongsberg in accordance with the procurement law basis in the crisis provision in Article 28, para. 1, litra c of the FSD, given the urgent nature of the procurement, cf. the section "Justification for direct award" for further details.
