France's defence procurement agency DGA announced on 8 October 2024 that it had notified the first development contracts for a stealth combat drone to accompany the Rafale F5 to Dassault Aviation, Thales and Safran. The drone builds on the nEUROn demonstrator and is meant to support the Rafale in first-entry, air-to-air, air-to-ground and air defence suppression missions, and Dassault then aimed for it to serve the French Air and Space Force by 2033. In May 2026 the head of the DGA told the French Senate that no stealth nEUROn-type drone is in the current programming, that the updated military programming law funds work on accompanying drones, and that the aim is to experiment with the first drones in 2028. No official name has been published.
