Baykar is a Turkish developer and manufacturer of unmanned aircraft, including the Bayraktar TB2 and AKINCI. The TB2 supports surveillance, reconnaissance and guided-weapon missions. Poland’s defence ministry signed a contract in May 2021 for four TB2 systems comprising 24 aircraft, together with control stations, weapons, training and logistics support. A company-hosted report records completion of that shipment in May 2024.
AKINCI entered Turkish service in August 2021, according to Baykar. The portfolio also includes TB3, which demonstrated shipborne strike missions from TCG Anadolu during the October 2025 SEAWOLF exercise. That exercise evidence should not be confused with acceptance of an entire operational fleet. KIZILELMA is a separate jet-powered unmanned combat aircraft programme. Baykar’s October 2025 release described live-fire testing by its third prototype, ongoing tests and a target of inventory entry in 2026. These programmes place Baykar across fielded reconnaissance-strike aircraft and newer naval and combat-aircraft development, with materially different maturity levels.
In June 2025, Baykar and Leonardo announced LBA Systems, an Italy-based 50:50 joint venture for unmanned-system development, production and support.
