Poland SAN Counter-Drone System

SAN is Poland's national counter-drone system, ordered by the Ministry of National Defence on 30 January 2026 from a consortium of PGZ, APS and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace for an estimated PLN 15 billion. It comprises 18 batteries with 18 command platoons and 52 firing platoons on about 700 Jelcz and Legwan vehicles, armed with 35 mm, 30 mm and 12.7 mm guns, missiles and interceptor drones built around Kongsberg's Protector family. First components are due in 2026 and PGZ expects the whole system to be delivered within 24 months of signing; Kongsberg plans a plant in Poland to build and sustain its SAN equipment.
