The Baltic drone wall is a plan agreed in principle on 24 May 2024 by the interior ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland and Norway to guard their borders with surveillance drones and counter-drone systems against smuggling and provocations from hostile states. Each country was to assess the work needed on its own border and draft an implementation plan, and a joint Estonian and Lithuanian bid for EU funding was turned down in March 2025. Estonia's Police and Border Guard Board is building its section, a 20 million euro detection and counter-drone network along the eastern border and in major towns due to be complete by the end of 2027, and in May 2026 it installed the first fixed counter-drone detection systems on the border with Russia.
