The Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA) is France's defense procurement and weapons systems organization within the Ministry of Defence, responsible for equipping armed forces, developing future defense systems, and conducting testing and evaluation of military equipment across all domains including naval, aerial, terrestrial, space, and cybersecurity. Created in 1961, the DGA manages over 100 active armament programs annually with approximately 10,500 personnel, serving as a major actor in France's defense industrial base and strategic autonomy.
