Quick decision context for procurement relevance and maturity.
The Australian Department of Defence has awarded Leidos Australia a AUD 45.9 million contract to serve as the systems integration partner for Project Land 156, procuring counter-small uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities including command-and-control systems, sensors, and effectors. This involves delivering and evolving the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) counter-drone capability to address increasing drone threats in modern warfare, supporting current and future operational requirements with an initial rapid demonstration by December 2025. The project forms part of a A$1.3 billion strategic investment over ten years to enhance ADF's ability to counter drone threats, building on prior deployments of over 120 threat detectors and drone-defeating technologies.
