NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Agency (NAGSMA)

The NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Agency (NAGSMA) is the executive body of the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Organization (NAGSMO), responsible for acquiring the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) Core capability on behalf of 15 participating NATO countries. It managed the procurement and development of the AGS system, which provides commanders with comprehensive ground surveillance using RQ-4D Phoenix UAVs equipped with radar sensors for tracking moving objects and imaging stationary ones. NAGSMA handed over the fully operational AGS system to all NATO Allies and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) by March 2022, enabling joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) for missions including troop protection and crisis management.
