The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM or SOCOM) is a unified combatant command of the U.S. Department of Defense that oversees special operations forces from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. It develops, trains, equips, and employs these forces for global special operations including direct action, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, unconventional warfare, and civil affairs to support U.S. policy objectives. USSOCOM coordinates joint operations and capabilities across branches but does not produce commercial defense products or drones.
