European Defence Agency

The European Defence Agency (EDA) is an EU agency established in 2004 to support its 27 Member States in developing collaborative defence capabilities and improving military resources under the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). It facilitates cooperation among defence ministries, promotes joint projects including in research, technology, and innovation relevant to the defence and drone sectors, and engages with industry to strengthen Europe's defence technological base. Key capabilities include harmonizing requirements, launching initiatives like the European Defence Fund (EDF) Drone Call 2024, and managing programs such as EU PESCO MUSAS, EUDIS Counter-Drone, and Baltic Eye.
