Quick decision context for procurement relevance and maturity.
The NATO AGS (Alliance Ground Surveillance) Program contract, awarded to GovSat in November 2016 for a long-term commercial SATCOM service valued at 1.3 billion EUR, provides end-to-end satellite capacity in commercial Ku-band (largely from the SES fleet) and capacity management support. It enables command and control as well as sensor data communications between NATO's Global Hawk UAVs and ground segments for all-weather, persistent wide-area terrestrial and maritime surveillance missions, including troop protection, border control, counter-terrorism, crisis management, and humanitarian assistance.
