This work effort will investigate the extension of swarming autonomy from expendable, autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (uavs) to enable heterogeneity across sensor modalities, and super swarm system EO14042

The Department of the Navy is procuring research services from Georgia Tech Applied Research Corp to investigate extending swarming autonomy from expendable autonomous UAVs to enable heterogeneity across sensor modalities and super swarm systems. This work aims to enhance robust target detection, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting missions by combining swarm payload variants and integrating with other autonomy architectures across platforms and domains. Strategically, it supports US Navy priorities like communications and command-and-control for multi-domain autonomous systems (UAVs, UGVs, USVs) in littoral explosive hazard defeat environments for Marine Expeditionary Unit operations.
