The Defense Contract Management Agency awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems a $7,074,213.8 contract titled 'MQ-9 BATTERY TECHNICAL MATURATION EFFORT (TME)' to procure technical maturation efforts for MQ-9 Reaper drone batteries. This development work advances battery technology for the MQ-9, a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial system used by the U.S. Air Force for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike missions. The effort supports ongoing enhancements to the MQ-9 platform amid strategic demands for persistent ISR and precision strike capabilities in contested environments.
