Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) Increment 1 Development Contracts

The US Air Force is procuring between 100-150 uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) under Increment 1, with an estimated program value of $4.5 billion for the aircraft procurement and $8.9 billion total including development. These autonomous drone wingmen are designed to operate alongside manned fighters like the F-35 and support next-generation air combat operations. However, Lockheed Martin was not selected to advance beyond the initial January 2024 design phase; only Anduril and General Atomics were chosen in April 2024 to develop production-representative test aircraft, with a final competitive decision expected in 2026.
