Unmanned Aircraft Systems <2kg

The Finnish Border Guard has awarded a contract valued at 454,300 EUR for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) weighing less than 2kg, aimed at enhancing surveillance capabilities, particularly for compiling situation pictures and improving satellite positioning system (GNSS) tolerance to disruptions along the eastern border. This procurement is part of broader EU-funded initiatives to strengthen border security, including radio systems and other surveillance enhancements. The lightweight UAS align with the Border Guard's needs for tactical reconnaissance, border surveillance, and situational awareness in complex environments, similar to micro-UAV systems adopted by Finnish forces.
