TO SUPPORT GBSAA OPERATIONS AT THE FIELDING SITES, PM UAS REQUIRES GBSAA OPERATORS (GBO), SENIOR GBOS, SYSTEM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS (SMT), AND SENIOR TRAINERS.

The Department of the Army, through PM UAS, is procuring GBSAA operators (GBO), senior GBOs, system maintenance technicians (SMT), and senior trainers from SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING SERVICES, LLC to support operations, training, and maintenance of the Ground Based Sense and Avoid (GBSAA) system at fielding sites including Army bases like Ft. Hood and Ft. Riley, and Air National Guard locations. The GBSAA system, utilizing LSTAR(V)3 radar, enables safe UAS operations in the National Airspace by providing ground-based detection and avoidance of airborne traffic, fulfilling FAA 'see and avoid' requirements for training and missions. This $5,673,018.03 contract addresses the need for contracted personnel to sustain GBSAA at five Army sites and expanding ANG sites, supporting UAS airspace integration as combat systems transition stateside.
