MQ-9 remotely piloted aircraft (rpa) launch and recovery element (lre) aircrew support in afghanistan

Amentum Services, Inc. was contracted by the Department of the Air Force to provide aircrew support services for MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft launch and recovery operations in Afghanistan. The $19.7 million contract supports ground-based teams that conduct the critical takeoff and landing phases of Reaper missions, which require line-of-sight control and on-site maintenance. This support service is strategically important for sustaining the largest concentration of MQ-9 Reaper operations ever deployed to a single base at Kandahar Airfield, enabling persistent surveillance and strike capabilities against insurgent and terrorist targets in the region.
