This $1.8 million Department of the Air Force contract funds the development of a modular, no-emit, multi-spectral alternative positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) system for unmanned aerial vehicles to navigate in land and maritime environments where GPS is denied or jammed. The project, led by the Air Force Institute for Technology and RhoMan Aero, aims to create a resilient navigation solution that operates without emitting signals, using multi-spectral sensors to maintain accurate positioning when standard GPS is unavailable. This capability is critical for defense operations in contested environments where adversaries may disrupt GNSS signals.
