Standardised Unmanned Ground Vehicle with Open Architecture (SUGV)

This AED study aims to investigate open standards for current and future unmanned ground vehicles with a view to: — reducing the total fixed costs associated with existing and future systems — providing interfaces that comply with publicly available open standards — enabling gradual improvement of systems — enabling technology deployment while minimising integration costs — improving operational efficiency — decoupling hardware and software where possible — specifying the smallest possible investment to achieve the goals without hindering innovation. — enabling cooperation between unmanned ground vehicle systems and unmanned aerial vehicles — promoting interoperability between control units and various robotic systems — promoting modularity and uniformity for payloads.
