The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a contract to General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. for USD 6,221,234.61 to perform research and development tasks testing and evaluating UAS detection and mitigation technologies in accordance with the statement of work. This work supports the Section 383 UAS Detection and Mitigation Airport Pilot program, mandated by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, aimed at ensuring these technologies do not interfere with the National Airspace System while enhancing airport safety against errant or hostile drones.
