Collaborative low-altitude UAS integration effort (clue)

The Department of the Air Force procured the Collaborative Low-Altitude UAS Integration Effort (CLUE) from AX Enterprize, LLC for $14,236,941 to develop a UAS Traffic Management system that provides air domain awareness, situational awareness, and operational capabilities for unmanned aircraft operations within DOD-controlled airspace. CLUE is designed to help air traffic controllers manage small UAS operations by providing three-dimensional views, enabling automatic flight permissions, and integrating with various sensors for detecting and tracking drones, with initial operational assessments beginning at MacDill Air Force Base in May 2024. The system supports safe integration of UAS operations beyond visual line of sight and represents a significant capability for DOD airfield operations and security.
