L2AD Laser Counter-Drone Weapon System

The French DGA awarded the L2AD contract worth €10 million to Cilas (with Thales involvement in related PARADE integration) for an operational prototype of the HELMA-P laser counter-drone weapon system capable of identifying, tracking, and neutralizing mini and micro drones. The procurement supports the PARADE anti-drone program to enhance protection for sensitive sites, including deployment at the 2024 Olympic Games and development of a vehicle demonstrator. It addresses growing drone threats by providing a multi-kilowatt laser effector with stealth, jamming immunity, and precision engagement up to 1km.
