Quick decision context for procurement relevance and maturity.
The US Army awarded Raytheon a $207 million contract to procure Ku-band Radio Frequency Sensors (KuRFS) and Coyote kinetic effectors as part of the Low, slow, small unmanned aircraft Integrated Defeat System (LIDS) program to equip Army divisions with counter-drone capabilities. The Coyote interceptors and KuRFS radars work together to detect, track, and defeat Group 1 and 2 unmanned aerial systems across fixed and mobile configurations. This procurement is part of the Army's accelerated counter-UAS strategy initiated in response to increasing drone threats across operational theaters, particularly in the Middle East.
