M-LIDS Increment 1 Development Contract

The US Army awarded Leonardo a EUR 49,500,000 contract for M-LIDS Increment 1 to develop the Mobile-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft Integrated Defeat System (M-LIDS), a counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) capability for detecting, identifying, tracking, and defeating small UAS threats using electronic warfare and kinetic effectors like the XM914 30mm cannon. Leonardo serves as the lead systems integrator, with partners such as Moog, to support the Army's rapid deployment needs amid rising drone threats to warfighters. This Increment 1 development precedes later production and modifications, including Increment 2 designated as an ACAT III program of record in 2022, with systems already deployed overseas in CENTCOM.
