Quick decision context for procurement relevance and maturity.
The US Army, through its Integrated Fires/Rapid Capabilities Office, has awarded Leonardo DRS a task order under an existing IDIQ contract valued at approximately EUR 18,900,000 to produce additional M-LIDS (Mobile-Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft Integrated Defeat System) counter-UAS platforms, including kinetic defeat vehicles equipped with the XM914 30mm cannon on a RIwP turret and spares. These systems enable soldiers to detect, identify, track, and defeat small drones using electronic warfare and kinetic effectors. M-LIDS Increment 2 is an ACAT III program of record with accelerated deliveries, and sets are deployed overseas to protect US and allied forces against proliferating drone threats.
