The KZO (Kleinflugzeug für Zielortung) is a stealthy tactical UAV manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space Airborne Solutions GmbH, a joint venture of Airbus Defence and Space and Rheinmetall, primarily for the German Army. Its main role is battlefield reconnaissance and target acquisition, locating mobile threats and providing real-time target data over 100-200 km via jam-resistant Ku-band datalink for artillery and other assets. Key capabilities include a 3.42m wingspan, 4-hour endurance, 220 km/h cruise speed, stabilized FLIR sensor, operation at 300-3,500m altitude in all weather with de-icing, and parachute recovery; a full system comprises 10 UAVs and ground support vehicles.
