Washington Headquarters Services

The Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), a Department of Defense Field Activity, provides essential security support including physical, industrial, information, and operations security, continuity of operations, and mission assurance to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, WHS, and other DoD components in the National Capital Region. Its Security Office offers oversight, training, analytical support, and compliance guidance on security matters, historically contributing to force protection initiatives like the establishment of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.
