The Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, named after the Heroes of Westerplatte, is the Polish Navy's officer-training military university. It educates officer-cadets, commissioned officers, civilian undergraduates and graduates and doctoral students, and researches naval strategy and operational art, navigation, ship engineering, maritime security and international maritime law. It also trains officers for navies in Europe, North Africa, the Near East and the Far East, and procures research, simulation and training equipment.
