The naval armaments directorate (commonly NAVARM) of Italy's General Secretariat of Defence and National Armaments Directorate (SGD/DNA). SGD/DNA is the administrative head of the Italian Ministry of Defence, responsible for implementing the minister's directives on senior administration, and its duties cover technology coordination, weapons procurement and military-industrial planning. The naval directorate is the contracting authority within that structure for naval materiel programmes.
