The Chief Directorate "Border Police" (GDGP), one of the five national operational services of Bulgaria's Ministry of Interior. It maintains border control at points of entry and conducts surveillance along Bulgaria's land, sea and river borders, a large part of which is the EU external border, through regional directorates at the major airports and the crossings with Serbia, Turkey, Greece and Romania. It cooperates operationally with neighbouring states and with Frontex, and procures its own surveillance and patrol equipment.
