Historic England

Historic England is the UK government's non-departmental public body for the historic environment of England, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and created on 1 April 2015 when English Heritage was split. It lists historic buildings, schedules ancient monuments, registers parks and gardens, maintains the National Heritage List for England and awards conservation grants. Its archaeological survey and monitoring work makes it a public buyer of aerial photography, remote sensing and geospatial survey services.
