The General Directorate of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (HZS ČR), sitting inside the Ministry of the Interior, is the national headquarters of the Czech fire and rescue service. It directs the fourteen regional fire rescue brigades, the Rescue Corps unit and the training school, and is the country's lead body for the integrated rescue system and civil protection. It is the central contracting authority for firefighting and rescue equipment, vehicles, protective gear and, increasingly, aerial and unmanned reconnaissance systems.
