FORTH (Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas) is Greece's largest multidisciplinary research organisation, operating 10 institutes covering fields from computer science and molecular biology to astrophysics. Some institutes (e.g. ICS) do EU-funded robotics, sensing and security-relevant R&D, which is presumably the link to a defence-adjacent contract here, but FORTH itself is a civilian research foundation, not a defence body.
