The dtec.bw project DS2CCP has set itself the goal of researching and developing safety and security concepts for industrial applications, in particular in the fields of aviation and mechanical and plant engineering, within the framework of suitable Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). During the implementation of the dtec.bw project DS2CCP, the potential for researching and developing counter-UAS systems, in particular in the area of automated interceptor drones, has emerged, especially in the analysis and evaluation of relevant wireless communication technologies. The misuse of private drones in urban areas, as well as the increasing use of drones as weapons, demonstrates the need for drone detection that is as comprehensive as possible and for the ability to intercept them in a targeted manner. The subproject UAS-TS5G is now intended to address the challenge, which has so far been insufficiently solved, of systematically detecting non-cooperative drones in urban areas, assessing their threat potential depending on context, and automatically initiating countermeasures. The HSU/UniBw H and T-Systems on site services GmbH (T-Systems) jointly intend to develop a long-term stable drone hazard index (hereinafter also referred to as "DGI") and to build a prototype sensor network for detecting drones via LTE/5G/Ethernet. This includes the development of an AI-supported data processing pipeline for fusing data streams from various sources. T-Systems contributes significantly to this by providing and analysing bearing data as well as system optimisations. By fusing technical, geographic and social context data into a dynamic situational picture, a real-time-capable UAV intervention chain is to be realised.
