De Counter Strikedrone Challenge

The Dutch Ministry of Defence (Ministerie van Defensie) is procuring innovative counter-strike drone solutions through the 'De Counter Strikedrone Challenge' to develop kinetic counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) capable of rapidly neutralizing enemy strike drones, even in adversary territory, by destroying or disrupting them near their launch points. The €3.7 million challenge invites industry proposals for adaptable systems with upgradable sensors, command and control, and effectors, aiming to select a company for prototype development, testing in the June 2026 'Fighting Lion' exercise, and potential military integration while ensuring NATO interoperability. This initiative addresses the growing drone threat observed in conflicts like Ukraine, fostering public-private partnerships via Defport and RVO.nl to accelerate C-UAS innovation.
