Drone Demonstration and Development Project

The UK Ministry of Defence is procuring a Drone Demonstration and Development Project from Elbit Systems, valued at GBP 990,000, involving the Magni-X micro-uncrewed aerial system (micro-UAS), a backpack-portable VTOL quadcopter for reconnaissance with electro-optical and infrared cameras, capable of swarming operations. This contract, awarded by the MOD's Defence Equipment & Support's Future Capability Group, supports the British Army's Human Machine Teaming Framework to equip specialist army units by mid-2023. It aligns with the UK's push for advanced unmanned systems to enhance ground soldier capabilities in ISR roles amid growing European and NATO demand for such technologies.
