SIRTAP Programme Acquisition

The Spanish Ministry of Defence procured nine SIRTAP systems from Airbus Defence and Space for EUR 495,000,000, with each system comprising three tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and one ground control station, totaling 27 drones and nine stations, plus two training simulators. This acquisition enhances the tactical surveillance, intelligence, reconnaissance, and maritime patrol capabilities of the Spanish Armed Forces. Strategically, the fully Spanish-designed and manufactured SIRTAP strengthens national sovereignty, supports industrial capabilities, and positions Spain as a leader in the European tactical UAS ecosystem with ITAR-free components for export potential.
