Army Warfighting Experiment (AWE) Urban: Sustain and Protect

The Army Warfighting Experiment (AWE) Urban: Sustain and Protect is the second phase of the British Army's AWE Urban Series (2022-24), a capability investigation focused on preparing forces for urban warfare by testing technologies for sustaining and protecting brigade-level units. It emphasizes intelligent logistics, medical and vehicle extraction, and protection measures including physical barriers, counter-uncrewed air systems (C-UAS), and counter-cyber/electromagnetic activities (C-CEMA). Conducted by the UK Ministry of Defence with involvement from Dstl, DE&S, and industry partners, the experiment evaluates emerging technologies at sites like Portsmouth and Salisbury Plain to inform future equipment investments and enhance Army lethality and resilience.
