Pegasus Follow-on Procurement

The Bundeswehr is procuring at least three additional Pegasus signals intelligence (SIGINT) aircraft based on the Bombardier Global 6000 from Hensoldt to expand its fleet from three to potentially six or nine units. This follow-on contract ensures continuous production through 2028 and integrates Hensoldt’s Kalaetron Integral suite for electronic and communications intelligence missions. The purpose is to enhance Germany’s independent airborne surveillance capabilities, reducing reliance on US intelligence amid shortfalls highlighted by the Ukraine conflict, following the retirement of the Breguet Atlantic.
