SDAM Development Contract

The French Ministry of Armed Forces signed a framework agreement with Airbus Helicopters and Naval Group for the SDAM (Système de Drone Aérien pour la Marine) program to acquire and integrate uncrewed aerial systems into French Navy frigates. The agreement includes production contracts for six VSR700 drones to be operated from 2028, along with CAMCOPTER S-100F lightweight reconnaissance drones for FREMM frigates, enhancing the Navy's Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance capabilities. This strategic initiative reflects France's accelerated military modernization and opens the door for international partner nations to procure similar configurations.
