Qatar FS-LIDS C-UAS

Qatar's "Qatar FS-LIDS C-UAS" program involves a $1 billion acquisition of Raytheon's Fixed Site Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System (FS-LIDS), announced on May 14, 2025, marking the first international export sale of this U.S. counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS). The purpose is to protect critical infrastructure—such as oil facilities, airbases, and seaports—from proliferating small, low-flying drone threats used for surveillance, intelligence, and attacks by state and non-state actors in the Middle East.
