This specialized imaging system operates in the LWIR spectral range (8,000–14,000 nm) using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) technology to capture high-resolution spectral data for applications like chemical detection and remote sensing. Such advanced LWIR hyperspectral cameras are notably expensive, often exceeding $800,000, aligning with the contract's high value, and enable detailed material identification in airborne and terrestrial scenarios.
