CCA Increment 1 Advancement Contracts

The US Air Force awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems a contract valued at approximately USD 4.5 billion under CCA Increment 1 to advance the development of collaborative combat aircraft (CCA), including detailed designs, production representative test aircraft, and eventual procurement of 100-150 drones to team with manned fighters like NGAD and F-35s. These autonomous, attritable aircraft enhance force multiplication by carrying munitions, sensors, and performing support roles in high-threat environments. A production decision is planned for FY2026, with initial operational capability by the end of the decade amid increasing USAF priorities and funding.
